ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Join us as our People & Culture Manager – Shape the culture, strategy and future of Stadiums Tasmania! We are seeking an experienced and strategic People & Culture Manager to lead the design, development and delivery of a contemporary people and culture function across Stadiums Tasmania.

This pivotal role will provide expert guidance and operational leadership across all areas of people and culture — including organisational development, employee relations, workforce planning, recruitment, policy and compliance, and culture and capability initiatives.

As the first dedicated People & Culture leader within Stadiums Tasmania, you will play a key role in building a high-performing, inclusive and values-driven organisation. You will partner closely with the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Team to shape our workforce strategy, embed constructive culture, and ensure Stadiums Tasmania is positioned as an employer of choice in Tasmania's growing sports and events sector.

ABOUT US
Stadiums Tasmania was established by the Tasmanian State Government under the Stadiums Tasmania Act 2022 to lead the strategic oversight, operation, maintenance and development of Tasmania's premier public stadiums. Our mission is to unlock the full potential of these iconic venues — driving economic growth, energising local communities, and putting Tasmania firmly on the map as a go-to destination for world-class events. Our vision is bold - to transform Tasmania into a powerhouse of sport, entertainment, and culture, while enriching the social and economic fabric of our state.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS - WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM
We're seeking a values-driven and forward-thinking HR professional who combines strategic insight with practical delivery. You will have the confidence to operate independently while partnering effectively across all levels of the organisation.

* Lead workforce planning and capability development, including talent acquisition, retention and strategic workforce initiatives that ensure the organisation has the capability to deliver on its priorities.
* Oversee industrial relations and compliance, providing expert advice, coordinating enterprise bargaining negotiations, and ensuring adherence to relevant legislation, awards and policies.
* Champion a positive, inclusive and high‐performance culture by designing and delivering programs that enhance employee engagement, wellbeing and professional growth.
* Act as a trusted advisor to the Executive Team on people strategy, organisational design and workforce matters, offering timely, practical and solutions‐focused guidance.
* Develop, implement and review People & Culture policies, frameworks and governance systems that promote fairness, compliance and continuous improvement.
* Oversee talent and performance processes, including recruitment, onboarding and performance management, ensuring alignment with organisational values and strategic workforce needs.
* Establish and maintain learning and development frameworks that build leadership capability, support career progression and enhance organisational effectiveness.
* Manage HR systems, reporting tools and workforce metrics to support data‐driven decision‐making and operational efficiency.
* Lead and support strategic organisational projects and change initiatives that contribute to a cohesive, future‐ready organisation.

ESSENTIAL

* Demonstrated experience in leading or managing HR/People & Culture functions in a complex or evolving organisation.
* Strong understanding of industrial relations frameworks, including experience supporting or leading enterprise agreement negotiations.
* Proven ability to design and implement people and culture strategies that drive engagement, capability, and performance.
* Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills across all levels of an organisation.
* Sound knowledge of employment legislation, modern awards, and best-practice HR governance.
* High level of integrity, confidentiality and sound judgement when managing sensitive information.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with initiative and attention to detail.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline.
* A current Working with Vulnerable People Registration (or ability to obtain one).

DESIRABLE

* A broad understanding of the Tasmanian and Australian sports and major events landscape.
* Current Driver's License.

OUR VALUES

* Excellence - We strive to be world-class in everything we do.
* Connected – We are connected and engaged with our local communities and broader stakeholders to deliver a truly authentic Tasmanian experience.
* Balance – We seek to optimise economic and community outcomes.
