About the Role
As a proactive and adaptable Assistant Supervisor, this role blends hands-on operational work with strategic coordination and team leadership—making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety, challenge, and real-world impact in a fast paced-work environment.
With the support and guidance of the Operations Supervisor you will provide leadership to a diverse team of permanent and seasonal employees. From overseeing grain receival and storage during the peak of harvest, to managing outloading logistics and grain quality throughout the year, you’ll be involved in every aspect of the supply chain, and contributing to the smooth operation across our Gladstone site.
Gladstone is situated in the mid north, gateway to the Flinders Rangers and neighbouring the progressive coastal township of Port Pirie. Duties include but not limited to:
- Assist with Supervising and coordinating grain receival, storage, and outloading activities
- Ensure the quality and quantity of grain stored at Gladstone meets Bunge’s high standards
- Enforce and champion safety protocols, ensuring a secure and compliant workplace.
- Administer safety, food safety, and quality documentation to maintain compliance
- Contribute to the planning and execution of operational strategies to meet safety, quality, and efficiency targets
- Support the recruitment, selection, and induction of staff, fostering a high-performance culture
- Represent Bunge positively to internal and external stakeholders, whilst cultivating lasting relationships with our grower customers, ensuring exceptional service.
Key Requirements
- Proven leadership experience in operations, preferably within grain handling, logistics, agriculture, or a similar industry.
- Strong focus on safety, compliance, and operational best practices.
- Hands-on, practical approach with the ability to lead by example.
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills to manage teams and build relationships.
- Skilled in planning, coordinating, and prioritising tasks in a dynamic, seasonal environment.
- Confident problem-solver with sound decision-making abilities.
- Motivated, adaptable, and ready to take ownership of a key site in the supply chain.
- Tech-savvy and comfortable using reporting systems.
- Current driver’s license.
