About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Field Test Engineer to join our team working on cutting-edge autonomous haulage solutions.
In this role, you will be hands-on at remote mine sites, verifying and validating the performance, safety, and reliability of autonomous heavy vehicles.
You will work closely with engineering, operations, and development teams to identify and resolve issues, ensuring our autonomous systems meet strict operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute field tests to verify autonomous haulage systems at the system integration level.
Calibrate and validate integrated vehicle control systems and sensors, conducting performance, reliability, and integration tests.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software integration issues, including data synchronization and subsystem interoperability.
Collaborate with engineers, architects, OEM partners, and verification teams to ensure seamless system integration.
Manage risks in complex system environments, adhering to engineering standards and protocols.
Track and report on quality metrics, integration success, and system readiness.
Prepare detailed reports on test outcomes, defects, and verification results.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in field testing autonomous systems in mining or heavy vehicle environments.
Strong knowledge of AHS technologies, including sensors, vehicle control systems, and integration challenges in mining conditions.
Expertise in system integration, regression, performance, hardware-in-the-loop, and experimental testing.
Solid analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex system issues.
Excellent communication skills for reporting results and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
Proficiency with Linux command line and familiarity with test management and traceability tools.
Understanding of the mining product lifecycle and the role of testing in operational safety.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Completion of field tests on schedule.
Achievement of safety, performance, and reliability benchmarks for AHS systems.
Effective issue resolution to maintain system quality and minimize downtime.
Stakeholder confidence in test results and system readiness.
Compliance with mining safety and autonomous system standards.
