Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineer to join our team on a part-time or casual basis. The role is for the night shift production (2PM-10PM) where you will be handling microfluidic systems and conduct Quality Checks.
In this role, you will assist in the production of microcarriers at our Belrose, Sydney location. The position involves working afternoon/evening shifts, typically from 2 PM to 10 PM. While we require flexibility in working hours and days, the production schedule can be planned in advance to suit your availability. On average, we require a total of 20-25 working hours per week.
This opportunity is ideal for a 3rd or final year engineering student eager to gain real-world experience. You will have the chance to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to a startup that is shaping the future of cell therapy. Your work will provide hands-on experience in microfabrication, microfluidics, system engineering, fluidic setup, and research and development (R&D).

Ideal Candidate Profile
Currently enrolled in a 3rd or final year of a Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering degree.
Strong sense of responsibility and passion for working in a fast-paced startup
Strong academic background in mechanical design, fluid mechanics, and system engineering.
Previous hands-on experience in a lab or production environment.
Understanding of microfabrication and microfluidics is desirable but can be learned on the job.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for mechanical design and prototyping.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems.
Excellent attention to detail and precision in executing tasks.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Flexibility in managing work hours and adapting to changing production needs.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively report on project progress and collaborate with team members.
This role requires a proactive and hands-on approach, with a keen interest in learning and contributing to cutting-edge projects in the biotech field.
