About the role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated
Enterprise Architect
to support two major, concurrent transformation programs within a government-focused organisation. This role will work closely with service designers, business analysts, program architects, IT security specialists, procurement teams, and senior executives to shape future-state business and technology outcomes. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in defining enterprise architecture standards, designing fit-for-purpose solutions, and ensuring alignment between technology and business objectives. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to nationally significant programs that will uplift critical service delivery across multiple workstreams.
Key Responsibilities
* Work collaboratively with program representatives and technical teams to design solution approaches aligned to future-state business needs across both programs.
* Develop an operational understanding of existing IT infrastructure, program design standards, and work packages.
* Partner with CIO Divisions, program leads, and business stakeholders to ensure enterprise architecture is fit-for-purpose.
* Define and enforce architectural standards, principles, and guidelines to ensure consistency and alignment.
* Design scalable, secure, and cost-effective IT solutions for complex business requirements.
* Identify and mitigate risks associated with technology adoption or integration.
* Apply IT governance frameworks, standards, and best practices to guide delivery.
* Provide architectural input into business cases, delivery planning, and decision-making.
Skills and experience
* Proven experience delivering enterprise architecture in complex ICT environments.
* Strong understanding of Agile project delivery and demonstrated ability to support IT change in an Agile setting.
* Experience working with Program Managers, Product Owners, and SMEs to balance competing requirements.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence senior executives and key decision-makers.
* Familiarity with ITIL processes and structures.
* Strong background in defining and delivering solutions that align with organisational and environmental constraints.
Desirable
* Demonstrated experience producing innovative enterprise architecture for both current and future state.
* Ability to translate between business and technical terminology with clarity and impact.
Additional requirements
* Must hold an
active Baseline security clearance
prior to commencement.
* Australian citizenship required.
