About the role
Legal Assistants are a key component of OFRM Lawyers providing high quality legal services by providing administrative and practical support that assists our lawyers and clients in the efficient and effective conduct of matters.
The duties of a Legal Assistant in the Family Law team includes:
• Assisting clients during their family law matters.
• Supporting our lawyers in the conduct of family law matters.
• Being a key part of the OFRM Lawyers team.
About you
• Ideally you will already have some experience working in a law firm and you now want to take the next step in your career, focusing on family law and working with a team that values collaboration, technology and development.
• Maybe you haven’t yet worked in a law firm, but you enjoy working in an office environment and now want to develop your career in legal.
• Perhaps having completed an undergraduate degree you now realise working in a legal firm would be an interesting and rewarding career.
• Ideally you would be wanting a full-time position and keen to utilise our flexible and hybrid work arrangements, but this role may be available on a part-time basis for the right person.
Additionally you:
• Can manage competing priorities and a fast-paced work environment.
• Can touch type with a high level of accuracy and speed of at least 60wpm.
• Have excellent literacy and grammar skills, high level of detail.
• Can maintain our ethical duties and confidentiality.
• Embrace technology, a self-starter in solving IT issues and confident in the use of Microsoft Office 365.
• Experienced with Lexis Nexis Affinity or capable of swiftly learning our Practice Management System.
• Resilient and able to self-manage working in the family law environment.
• Enjoy working as part of a modern legal team.
• Highly organised and able to both work with other organised people and those that require a bit more support.
• Passionate about supporting our clients and lawyers.
