About The Role
Reporting directly to the Management Accountant, this role is a key part of our finance team. You will perform a variety of reporting tasks, helping to identify errors, gaps, and opportunities for improvement across the business, including support for budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will liaise with the wider management team to provide advice and support for both day-to-day operations and strategic planning.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to bring a strategic and customer-focused approach to finance. The role is permanent, full-time, and based in either Cairns (Cairns Airport) or Brisbane (Southbank office), working standard business hours.
What You Will Do
* Conduct financial analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and ad-hoc reporting to support strategic and operational decisions.
* Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
* Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning, investment decisions, and strategic initiatives.
* Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Collaborate with department heads and Finance teams to create budgets, forecasts, and process improvements.
* Stay informed on market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities to support strategic planning.
* Review transactions for accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
What You Will Bring
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CIMA/CPA qualification or equivalent is highly desirable.
* Proven experience with spreadsheets, databases, and financial software applications, with confident use of MS Office Suite.
* Strong financial modelling skills and the ability to analyse complex financial data.
* Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to pass mandatory pre-employment and routine drug and alcohol testing.
