**The Opportunity**
Join our Regulation team and advance the Government's road safety objectives by contributing to the safe, reliable, and efficient movement of goods, services, and people across the state's road networks.
The Assessment Officer contributes to meeting the state's road safety targets by undertaking in field assessments of driving examiners and registered training organisations to ensure the delivery of training and assessment of novice drivers, drivers upgrading to a higher class and the reporting of non-conformance is conducted to the appropriate standards.
The Assessment Officer also delivers training to applicants to become an Authorised Examiner, including upgrades to heavy vehicle classes. In addition, Assessment Officers conduct medical practical driving assessments.
The role also contributes to the development and implementation of strategies for assessment, engagement and monitoring of Motor Driving Instructors and Authorised Examiners.

- Have experience and expertise as a Motor Driving Instructor or Authorised Examiner, with a background and experience in training delivery.

**Educational Qualifications/Licenses**
- Hold a current Certificate IV in Transport and Logistics - Road Transport - Driving Instruction (highly desirable).
- Driver's Licence (heavy vehicles desirable).
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (highly desirable).
**Special Conditions**
- A National Police Check (NPC) which is required to be renewed every three years.
- A Department for Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (WWCC) which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
**Tenure of Vacancy**
Temporary appointment up to 12 months
**Remuneration**
ASO4 - $76,561 to $80,256 per annum
