Overview
Executive Consultant - Financial Services. Responsible for managing operational risk and compliance across the organisation, ensuring frameworks, policies, and practices effectively support business growth while meeting regulatory and legislative obligations.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and oversee a risk framework that balances business growth with operational and compliance risks.
* Research economic, environmental, and market factors to identify material risks and assess their impact.
* Design and implement strategies to mitigate risks within the organisation's appetite.
* Monitor adherence to risk policies and regularly review frameworks to address emerging risks.
* Support risk assessment for new products, projects, and processes.
* Promote risk awareness and deliver training where required.
Compliance
* Establish and maintain a compliance framework aligned with legislative, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
* Monitor regulatory changes and ensure obligations are met through effective processes and controls.
* Work with legal advisors as needed to interpret obligations and minimise exposure to compliance breaches.
* Foster a culture of compliance across the organisation through awareness and training.
Legislative & Regulatory Oversight
* Keep abreast of current and proposed legislation and ensure frameworks remain aligned.
* Manage external relationships with regulators and other key stakeholders.
Reporting
* Deliver accurate and timely reports to senior leadership and the board.
* Ensure required submissions are made to regulators and other stakeholders.
Leadership & Culture
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Lead by example, promoting collaboration, high standards, and a culture aligned to organisational values.
* Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to team members.
