Newmont Tanami, located on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs, is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset. The Tanami Expansion 2 project aims to extend mine life beyond 2040, increasing underground production and further developing the operation. A fully equipped camp is available 40km from the site, offering leisure facilities for those flying in from Perth, Brisbane, Alice Springs, or Darwin.

Purpose
As a Mine Controller at Newmont Tanami, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring safe, efficient underground mining operations. You'll coordinate daily production priorities and fleet activities, ensuring accurate data is captured to support smooth operations and decision-making. Your work will directly support productivity, safety, and operational excellence across the site.
Essential Duties
* Operate and monitor the MineStar Fleet Management System
* Coordinate production tasks such as drilling, loading, dumping, and fleet movements
* Ensure accurate data capture for time usage, production, and equipment downtime
* Escalate underground incidents and monitor safety alerts (e.g., seismic or weather systems)
* Troubleshoot and report maintenance or optimisation needs for fleet behaviours
* Maintain clean, safe work areas and contribute to audit and quality improvement efforts
* Uphold compliance with mine, company, and national health and safety guidelines
Training & Experience
* 2+ years of underground mining experience
* Experience with Fleet Management Systems (MineStar, Modular, Pitram or similar)
* Knowledge of Mine Planning Systems and mine site procedures
* Strong computer skills and attention to detail
* Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills
* Current Australian manual driver's licence
* Commitment to safety and continuous improvement
Working Conditions
* FIFO 2/2 roster – 1 week days, 1 week nights
* Fly-in options from Darwin, Alice Springs, Perth or Brisbane
* Stay in a fully equipped camp 40km from the site, with leisure facilities
* Be part of the Tanami Expansion 2 project, extending mine life beyond 2040
* Work in a modern, well-supported site environment on Aboriginal freehold land
