About the role
Extreme Dentistry is a small general dental practice with focus on surgical and prosthodontics procedures in need of a surgically oriented nurse. This position is demanding and requires a nurse to be fast and efficient. As the practice is small, we are seeking all-rounder who can manage chair-side assisting, reception and sterilising room. Applications from overseas are not considered.
Candidates must have valid Australian work rights as applications from overseas candidates will not be considered.
What you'll be doing
* Assisting the dentist during procedures by preparing equipment, handing instruments, and providing patient care and comfort
* Minimum 1+ years of surgical dental procedure experience required
* Surgical experience will be prioritised over reception experience when evaluating candidates
* Candidates must have experience with extractions, oral surgery, implants, and other surgical procedures
* Performing front desk duties such as greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and handling payment processing
* Dental reception experience is essential for managing front desk responsibilities effectively
* Candidates must have 6-12 months of dental reception experience
* Maintaining sterilisation and infection control protocols
* Ensuring the dental operatory is clean, organised, and well-stocked
* Providing excellent customer service and addressing patient inquiries and concerns
* Updating and maintaining accurate patient records and documentation
What we're looking for
* Previous experience as a Dental Nurse or Dental Assistant is preferred for this role.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with patients and other team members in a friendly and professional manner
* Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
* Proficiency in using dental software and office equipment
* Experience with any dental software system is required to manage patient records and practice operations
* A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control and patient care
* Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting or a related healthcare field
* Candidates without qualifications will be considered if they demonstrate strong aptitude and motivation
* Candidates without formal dental qualifications must have a minimum of 1+ years dental experience
* Candidates with no experience or qualifications need to exhibit aptitude and motivation for their application for this role in their cover letters
