An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced Practice Manager to lead the day-to-day operations and performance of the Sunshine Coast practices.
Reporting directly to the Surgeons, this position is responsible for ensuring the efficient, compliant and patient-focused operation of the practice. This role has a strong emphasis on operational management, workflow optimisation and team coordination, while also incorporating key Business Development (BDM) responsibilities, including driving referral growth, strengthening GP and specialist networks, and supporting strategic initiatives to enhance service visibility and sustainable practice expansion.
Key responsibilities include (but will not be limited to):
* Oversee the daily operations of the practice across Sunshine Coast locations
* Manage and optimise patient flow, scheduling and theatre coordination
* Ensure seamless coordination between surgeons, nursing staff, hospitals and external providers
* Monitor and improve operational workflows, systems and efficiencies
* Oversee and maintain practice management systems, with a strong focus on effective utilisation of Xestro software
* Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, policies and accreditation standards
* Support and lead administrative and clinical support teams to ensure high performance and accountability
* Coordinate consulting sessions, theatre lists, and resource allocation to maximise capacity
* Manage relationships with hospitals, anaesthetists, and surgical stakeholders
* Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across the practice
* Contribute to a positive patient experience from enquiry through to discharge
* Coordinating surgeons’ consulting schedules and theatre lists to maximise capacity and service availability
* Liaising with hospitals, anaesthetists, surgical assistants and subcontractors to support seamless service coordination
You are an experienced and hands-on Practice Manager with a strong background in specialist medical environments, ideally within surgical settings.
Skills and experience required include:
* Demonstrated experience as a Practice Manager within a specialist or surgical medical practice (essential)
* Strong working knowledge and experience using Xestro practice management software (highly desirable)
* Proven ability to manage practice operations, workflows and team coordination
* Experience working closely with surgeons, theatres, and hospital systems
* Solid understanding of compliance, accreditation, and healthcare standards
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple sites and competing priorities
* Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clinical and administrative teams
* A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a commitment to operational excellence and patient care
Remuneration:
This position offers a competitive salary package of up to $150,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and expertise. In addition, the successful candidate will enjoy a range of benefits including provided uniforms and on-site car parking.
