This is a unique opportunity where your leadership will directly influence how we deliver essential services to our community and support the financial sustainability of the largest regional council in NSW.

A permanent opportunity has become available for a Rates and Revenue Manager to lead a high-performing team and drive innovation across the council's rating, revenue and debt management functions. This role will see you lead a team responsible for delivering high-quality customer service while ensuring the accurate administration and collection of approximately $203 million in rates and charges across more than 72,000 properties.

Responsibilities

* Lead a team to deliver high-quality customer service and manage collections of rates and charges.
* Drive improvements and reform, including the review and implementation of debt management strategies, strengthening systems and processes, and optimising service delivery through effective contract management.
* Oversee critical compliance and reporting functions, ensuring accuracy, transparency and alignment with legislative requirements.
* Provide expert insights to senior management and Council to inform revenue strategies, long-term financial planning and equitable rating structures.
* Foster a performance-driven culture, providing clarity, accountability and support to your team while managing competing priorities and resources.

Qualifications

* Previous local government experience.
* Strong technical expertise in rating, valuation and debt management matters.
* Strategic and technically strong leadership ability in a complex environment.
* Motivation to influence change, improve systems and deliver outcomes that matter to the community.
