We are currently seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to join our team in Hobart, Australia (AU). Job SummaryThe Desktop Support Engineer is responsible for coordinating a team of desktop support associates and ensuring high-quality end-user IT support services. This role involves hands-on technical troubleshooting, client interaction, coordination across IT teams, and driving remediation activities related to network operations and information security. The role supports hardware, software, LAN, voice, and video services while ensuring compliance with security and operational standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Lead and working closely with other service team members, this junior role is responsible for providing Service Desk Support across offices.
What you'll need to succeedProvide basic technical support at the network level, including Wi-Fi, LAN/WAN connectivity, VPN troubleshooting, and escalation of firewall or security issues to senior staff.
Triage, log, and resolve support tickets within agreed SLAs using the ITSM ticketing system, collaborating with senior team members on more complex issues as needed.
Maintain and update IT knowledge base articles, SOPs, and system documentation to support self-service and team efficiency.What you'll get in return
