Fixed Term | Three (3) Years | Full Time (76hrs Per Fortnight)

Premium Recquatic Membership | 13% Superannuation | Rostered Day Off (9 Day Fortnight)

This position is classified as a PACS Band 6 ($85,494 - $91,666 per annum + superannuation) under the City of Kwinana's structured remuneration system.

What's On Offer
An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and detail-oriented Governance and Legal Support Officer to join our high-performing Governance and Legal team.

Reporting to the Manager Governance and Legal, this role plays a key part in delivering high-quality legal and governance support across the organisation. You will contribute to a broad range of areas including governance, risk, procurement, and property matters, while supporting the City's commitment to strong compliance and best-practice decision making.

This is a dynamic and fast-paced role suited to someone who enjoys variety, thrives on problem solving, and takes pride in producing accurate and professional work.

What You'll Need
To make an impact as our new Governance and Legal Support Officer, the successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

* Demonstrated experience working in a legal, government or regulatory environment.
* Familiar with interpreting legislation, with a good understanding of the legislative framework governing Local Governments in Western Australia.
* Demonstrated ability to undertake research, problem solve complex issues with particular attention to detail and accuracy.
* Demonstrated experience in drafting and reviewing legal documents such as leases and contracts.
* Experience communicating appropriately with a wide range of stakeholders and producing well written documents and correspondence.
* Ability to autonomously manage competing demands and meet strict timeframes in a busy environment.
* Strong computer literacy, particularly in the Microsoft Office suite of products.
* Current Driver's Licence.
* Qualification in law or working towards (desirable).
