Master Builders SA is seeking a highly experienced and technically skilled Technical Officer to support Consumer and Business Services (CBS) in the assessment of applicants for Supervisor Registration in South Australia.
This is a unique opportunity for an industry professional to play a critical role in maintaining standards, compliance, and integrity across the building and construction sector.
About the Role
In this role, you will conduct structured technical interviews with applicants seeking Supervisor Registration, assessing their knowledge, experience, and capability against relevant legislative and industry standards. You will apply your deep technical expertise to ensure candidates meet the required competency levels aligned with their nominated licence class.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct structured technical interviews with Supervisor Registration applicants
* Assess knowledge of building codes, standards, and SA legislative requirements
* Evaluate practical experience and technical competency
* Ensure assessments are fair, consistent, and professionally delivered
* Prepare clear, accurate documentation and feedback following each assessment
* Maintain strict confidentiality and integrity throughout the process
About You
You are a highly experienced building professional with strong technical capability and sound judgement. You bring a practical understanding of the industry, combined with the ability to assess and communicate effectively.
Skills & Experience
* Minimum 10+ years' experience in the building and construction industry
* Current Residential or Commercial Building Licence
* Strong knowledge of relevant building codes and standards
* Experience in supervisory or senior technical roles (highly regarded)
* Excellent analytical, assessment, and decision-making skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* High attention to detail and professional integrity
Requirements
* Current National Police Clearance (within 12 months)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams
* Ability to work flexible hours
* Must hold a current ABN
