Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Senior Cybersecurity Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.
Key Responsibilities :
Create requirement documents, including high level design documents, interface control design documents, detailed software requirements and specifications, and requirements traceability documents.
Be the primary technical interface to the customer throughout the project lifecycle and act as technical liaison with other departments involved in the software development effort.
Interface with internal customers (project managers, construction managers, project engineers, application engineers) and external stakeholders (customers, suppliers, subcontractors, local authorities, external assessors) to ensure effective communication and system integration.
Develop and execute security management and commissioning plans, including resourcing, logistics, and scheduling. Lead onsite commissioning and acceptance testing.
Identify and resolve interfaces with main subsystems (e.g., Signalling, TLC, DCS, SCADA) and security systems (e.g., SIEM).
Manage contractual requirements and customer requests to ensure fulfillment.
Analyze customer system specifications and decompose them into software requirements.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define and execute testing protocols for operational readiness based on contractual requirements.
Provide technical support during commissioning and operation, troubleshooting as needed.
Develop training and handoff materials for customers and internal teams; establish train-the-trainer programs for safe plant operation.
Develop and implement Cyber Security Management Plans.
Conduct High-Level Risk Assessments following standards like NIST 800-53, IEC 62443, and ISO 27000.
Perform Detailed Risk Assessments (DRA) and Threat and Vulnerability Assessments (TVA).
Create Security Cases according to IEC 62443-4-1 and EN 50129:2018, including incident management, patch management, and asset management procedures.
Build strong relationships with customer cybersecurity representatives.
Drive continuous improvement by capturing and sharing technical problem-solving knowledge.
Skills & Experience :
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Telecom Engineering, or related field.
At least 5 years of experience in Cybersecurity System Engineering.
Relevant cybersecurity certifications.
Experience in industries such as rail, oil & gas, power, aerospace, or automotive is advantageous.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working in diverse, multicultural environments with multiple stakeholders.
