About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Disability Support Workers for our SIL accommodation in Heidelberg Heights, VIC. Your role will involve providing in-home supports to our participant and assistance with personal care, meals preparation, medication management, community access, transportation, and companionship. This role is perfect for someone who is a fast learner, works under limited supervision, passionate about the work they do and has ability to demonstrate person-centred and positive approach towards supporting and empowering our participants.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide in-home support and personal care assistance, including showering, toileting, dressing, and grooming
* Assist with behavioural support
* Assist with medication administration in accordance with care plans
* Support meal preparation and assist with feeding where required
* Assist participants with complex and challenging behaviours
* Support the development of daily living and life skills
* Provide transport to appointments, shopping, and community activities
* Promote community participation, social inclusion, and independence
* Complete accurate progress notes and documentation
* Undertake manual handling tasks based on participant needs
* Follow individual care plans, organisational policies, and NDIS requirements
* Assist with domestic duties such as cleaning and laundry
Essential Requirements:
* Valid Right to Work in Australia
* Minimum 1 year experience as a Disability Support Worker
* Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Personal Care (or higher)
* Experience working in SIL (Supported Independent Living) environments
* Experience supporting clients with complex, challenging behaviors
* NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
* Current First Aid (HLTAID011 or HLTAID012) and CPR (HLTAID009) certificates
* Current Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle
* Comprehensive car insurance
* Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination.
* Can start immediately and with flexible availabilities (day, afternoon and night shifts)
* Willingness to complete all required compliance checks and training
