Head of HR
Location: New Zealand (Relocation support available for the right person)

We're partnering with a leading retail brand seeking an experienced Head of People & Culture to lead and elevate all people functions across both retail stores and head office operations.
This is a highly influential role that plays a key part in shaping culture, driving engagement, and ensuring operational excellence across Australia and New Zealand. You'll manage a small team while working closely with the leadership group to deliver impactful HR strategies that support growth and performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee all people and culture functions across retail and head office.
* Lead ER and grievance processes with empathy and sound judgment.
* Drive HR operations with a strong retail focus, ensuring compliance with NZ employment law.
* Implement and optimise HR systems and processes.
* Ensure alignment of policies and practices across AU and NZ.
* Partner with legal teams on documentation, compliance, and risk management.
* Champion L&D, engagement, and retention initiatives.
* Oversee payroll processes and the full employee lifecycle.
Ideal Candidate would have:
* Background in retail or hospitality is essential.
* Experienced across both strategic and hands-on HR leadership.
* Deep understanding of NZ employment legislation and compliance.
* Confident managing a small team and working in a fast-paced, high-turnover environment.
* Skilled in building strong relationships and driving HR improvements from the ground up.
* NZ-based or open to relocating (relocation support provided).
