Responsibilities
Business Credit is a centralised Line 2 Risk function responsible for credit decisioning across commercial and consumer lending exposures (up to $15m), supporting customers across a broad range of industries.
Reporting to the Head of Business Credit, you will lead a team of credit decisioners and play a key role in delivering consistent, high-quality risk outcomes.
* Make sound, balanced credit decisions aligned to risk appetite and policy.
* Monitor portfolio performance and emerging risks.
* Provide clear, commercially pragmatic insights to stakeholders.
* Lead and inspire a high-performing team by creating a high-performance culture built on accountability, ownership and continuous improvement.
* Develop team capability through coaching, feedback and on-the-job learning.
* Drive strong engagement and outcomes in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
* Provide leadership influence and shadow, acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, contributing to broader strategic discussions.
* Provide leadership shadow across the function, influencing decision-making and risk outcomes.
* Represent Business Credit in key governance and transaction forums.
* Drive risk excellence and continuous improvement, identify and deliver process improvements to enhance efficiency and risk management.
* Communicate risk insights clearly and drive actions with stakeholders.
* Provide constructive challenge to business partners, including direct client engagement.
Qualifications
* A minimum of 5 years in commercial lending with credit delegation and understand lending across a range of industries and customer types.
* Are confident decision-makers in a high-volume environment.
* Proven leadership experience, building and leading engaged, high-performing teams.
* Communicate effectively and influence a broad range of stakeholders.
* Challenge the status quo and simplify processes to improve outcomes.
* Experience in a relevant industry e.g. financial services, advisory.
* Hold a relevant tertiary qualification (desirable).
