About the Role:

As the Quality, Safeguarding and Practice Officer with Challenge Community Services, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred services across the organisation.

Working within the Quality, Safeguarding and Practice (QSP) division, you'll provide cross-portfolio support to the Safeguarding, Quality Assurance, and Practice & Outcomes teams. Your work will include triaging incidents, coordinating regulatory reporting, maintaining safeguarding and quality registers, and assisting with data, audit, and continuous improvement activities that drive compliance and quality outcomes.

Duties:

* Provide administrative and coordination support across Safeguarding, Quality Assurance, and Practice & Outcomes portfolios.
* Triage incoming incident and complaint reports, escalating critical issues as required.
* Support regulatory reporting to the NDIS Commission, OCG, and DCJ.
* Maintain registers, trackers, and documentation for safeguarding, audits, and continuous improvement.
* Assist with data collection, validation, and reporting to inform trends and governance updates.
* Assemble evidence packs for regulator requests, internal audits, and reviews.
* Support Communities of Practice, panel coordination, and training logistics.
* Promote safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed practice across all service areas.
* Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and accuracy in all QSP activities.

Skills and Experience:

Essential

* Demonstrated understanding of and experience in supporting evidence-informed frameworks (e.g. CARE, TCI, Positive Behaviour Support) in a human services context.
* Sound knowledge of trauma-informed, person-centred, strengths-based and culturally responsive approaches.
* High-level interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively.
* Sound experience in writing reports, managing data, analysing trends and providing administrative support to a team of professional staff.
* Current driver's license.
* NSW Working with Children's Check (or eligibility to obtain one)
* QLD Blue Card (or eligibility to obtain one)
* NDIS Worker Screening Check (or eligibility to obtain one)
* Current Police Check (or eligibility to obtain one)

Desirable

* Experience working in the disability or out-of-home care sectors.
* Experience in conducting oversight activities such as audits and/or practice reviews.
* Sound understanding of regulatory frameworks, Standards and Rules related to Disability and Foster Care.
