Business Development Manager Role


Job Description

The role of Business Development Manager at IHG Hotels & Resorts is a key position that requires a proactive approach to build and maintain valuable accounts, implement sales strategies, and meet set targets.

* A proactive sales approach is required to build and maintain valuable accounts and implement sales strategies to meet and exceed set targets.
* Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Sales is essential to understand and embrace local market segments and implement hotel-wide sales strategies to maximize occupancy rates.
* Working with internal stakeholders throughout the hotel and the wider IHG network will ensure all key objectives are met, and the Holiday Inn brand is fully delivered.
* Understanding the market competitor mix and offerings of competitors; driving new MICE business by identifying fresh opportunities, building relationships with decision makers, and converting leads into clients.
* Picking up the phone, walking through doors, and getting in front of new clients is encouraged. A diary full of proactive sales calls, client visits, networking events, and industry showcases where the candidate will proudly champion our brand and not shy away from pricing negotiations.

What We Need From You:
A proven successful sales track record and experience in hotel MICE proactive sales, understanding of key revenue principles, creative approach to identifying new opportunities, strong understanding of new business hunting and strategies for key account management, ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities and tasks, hands-on experience in proactive sales and business development, excellent verbal and written communication skills, proven experience in managing a sales pipeline, from prospecting to closing with measurable results in winning new business.
