About the opportunity
Mapei has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Finance to join the team, based in Wacol.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will provide leadership and management to the Mapei subsidiary finance team, ensuring efficient financial controlling and accounting functions in line with the group requirements.
About the role
* Coordinate and review the organisational layout and composition of local finance teams; supervise changes in accordance with local GM and Corporate Controlling.
* Define job profiles and tasks for finance/accounting positions, manage recruiting phase of new hires in line with Group policies.
* Liaise and communicate with local and HQ Management to ensure a good flow of information, including raising awareness on areas of risk or concern.
* Review and deliver timely accurate and business focused reports on the financial performance of the Company, in order to provide strategic advice to local and HQ Management in the achievement of long-term financial targets and performances.
* Critically review and explain management accounts, investigate variances with budget and previous year, with the ability to identify areas for improvement.
* Lead the annual budgeting and monthly/quarterly forecasting process for the Company, and provide finance input to local management in developing the budget.
* Manage and supervise payroll activities and compliance with fiscal regulations concerning personnel administration.
* Supervise and coordinate the local IT team, ensuring alignment with corporate guidelines and business needs.
About you
* Solid background in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, tax and internal controls, treasury management.
* Technically strong, grounded in facts and thrive on complex financial problem‑solving.
* University degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA appreciated.
* Proficient in Excel and other ERP systems.

* Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar position of an industrial company, better in a multinational environment.
* Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills.
* Strong skills in English, both oral and written.
* Demonstrated ability to work with large data sets and translate insights into clear, actionable outcomes.
* Strong business acumen with the ability to effectively partner with and influence operational teams.
* Proven leadership capability to nurture, coach, and drive high performance within a team.
