At Ventia, we are currently seeking an experienced Field Lead - Carpenter to join our team on our Defence Base Services contract in Darwin NT. This role will see you based at Larrakeyah Navy Base.
Your primary responsibilities will be to provide a high level of customer service, manage key stakeholders, and supervise and coordinate the building trades to effectively maintain, repair, replace, and ensure the integrity and performance of facilities and equipment within the Defence contract.
Responsibilities
1. Coordinate first response for emerging Estate Upkeep outages impacting Asset availability and provide on-site ground control.
2. Implement and issue the Ventia Permit to Work System, conduct site auditing of work activity safety documentation, and confirm operational processes as required.
3. Participate in Subcontractor and Project Management Quality Control activities, including validation of work scope completion and value for money assessments.
4. Provide site access coordination, including inductions, access to drawings, maps, and escorts for Subcontractors.
5. Establish and maintain appropriate on-base liaison and relationships with key Client and Customer representatives.
6. Ensure all information regarding works is entered into relevant systems in a timely manner.
7. Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the Infrastructure Services Manager.
Skills and Experience
1. Hold trade or tertiary qualifications or experience in Carpentry, Building, Plumbing, or Handyman skills.
2. Developed interpersonal and written communication skills.
3. Ability to interact collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and maintain positive relationships with Client and Customer.
4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office packages and ability to learn/use computerised software.
5. Proficiency in the Permit to Work System, and qualifications in at least one high-risk discipline would be highly desirable.
6. Australian Driver's Licence.
