ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Payroll Advisor plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for Ngala's workforce. This position is responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements, and providing expert advice on payroll matters.

You will work closely with the People & Culture team and leaders across the organisation to deliver a high-quality payroll service that supports Ngala's commitment to a positive employee experience. This role also involves identifying opportunities for process improvement, maintaining payroll systems, and ensuring robust governance and reporting.


DUTIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* End-to-end payroll processing for a multi-site workforce
* Interpretation and application of awards, enterprise agreements, and legislation
* Managing payroll compliance, including superannuation, taxation, and reporting obligations
* Maintaining payroll systems and ensuring data integrity
* Providing payroll advice to managers and employees
* Supporting audits and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives


ABOUT YOU

* Have demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing within a complex organisation
* Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation, and compliance requirements
* Experience interpreting awards and enterprise agreements
* High attention to detail and accuracy with strong problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships
* Proficiency in payroll systems and Microsoft Office applications
* Experience using Employment Hero (preferred but not essential)


ROLE REQUIREMENTS

* Able to work across other Ngala sites as required
* Possession of a current National Police Certificate (obtained within the last 6 months)
