About our Engineering Team
The Jetstar Engineering Team are at the forefront of delivering our superior safety standards. They are responsible for ensuring the airworthiness of our fleet of aircraft, including completing all required maintenance that must be carried out on time and to approved standards to ensure they take to the skies safely. At every stage, all maintenance needs to be documented, detailed records maintained, with aircraft parts ordered and available at all times.
As part of our investment in our future, we have launched the Melbourne Engineering Precinct, which is the main maintenance hub of our network. Our team has the opportunity to work not only on Jetstar fleet, but customer aircraft - A320/21, B717 and A321 Freighter.
The Opportunity
We now have a wonderful opportunity to join our Jetstar Engineering CAMO Fleet Team in the role of Technical Specialist. Reporting to our Fleet Technical Manager, the primary function of the Technical Specialist is to act as the primary structures focal for the Boeing 787 fleet. You will play a critical role in ensuring the the fleet remains compliant with continuing airworthiness and in alignment with business requirements. You will be responsible for supporting the operation of our fleet, and display an ongoing commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
As Technical Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
- Technically assess service literature from a large range of regulators, and OEM's;
- Consult with Central Maintenance Planners and Heavy Maintenance Planners to ensure all maintenance requests are aligned with the expectations of Jetstar;
- Investigate safety critical events and defects in order to find root cause, develop mitigating strategies, and collate sound investigative reports;
- Support the Maintenance Operations Centre and Jetstar Part 145 AMO by providing technical advice, documentation and AOG support;
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and actively manage all fleet reliability and safety threats;
- Act as a Technical Focal for AOG support on technical issues and provide onsite support as required;
- Work with MRO Technical Coordinators to support operational requirements, C-Checks and other maintenance layups;
About You
To achieve success in this role, you will ideally bring:
- Qualifications as a Professional engineer (degree) or Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
- Experience in a similar position or sufficient engineering / aviation experience
- Ability to communicate & negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Process driven, with experience in constructing new processes to deliver business goals
- Highly motivated with a learning mindset
- Able to build effective working relationships
- Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft suite of software solutions.
