Elevate Your Expertise in a Busy, Supportive Surgical Unit
Join Logan Hospital's Acute Surgical Unit as a Temporary Full-Time ASU Fellow (76 hours/fortnight) and provide high-quality, supervised surgical care from 2 February 2026 to 31 January 2027 within a busy, collaborative Metro South Health environment.
Your new role:
As an ASU Fellow at Logan Hospital, you will deliver quality acute surgical care under senior supervision by:
* Managing surgical patients under the guidance of Senior Medical Officers and Consultants.
* Completing assessments, procedures and investigations with thorough documentation.
* Maintaining accurate, comprehensive medical records for all assigned patients.
* Supporting Junior House staff and collaborating with nursing and allied health teams.
* Participating in clinical meetings, quality activities and ongoing education.
* Contributing actively to patient safety and quality improvement across the unit.
About you:
You will bring strong clinical capability, professionalism and a commitment to high-quality patient care, with:
* MBBS (or equivalent) with current registration as a Medical Practitioner in Australia.
* Previous PHO/Registrar-level surgical experience (desirable).
* Ability to deliver patient‑centred care with empathy, maturity, strong time management and clear communication.
* Commitment to ongoing learning, education participation and teaching.
* High ethical standards with respect for patients, carers and colleagues.
* Solid general surgery knowledge and procedural skills.
* Willingness to participate in weekend and after‑hours rosters.
