About the Role
Group 6 Metals is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Planner to join our operations at the Dolphin Tungsten Mine. Based on King Island, this full-time position plays a key role in driving the efficiency and reliability of our plant and equipment by leading the planning and scheduling of maintenance activities.
As the Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible for coordinating planned and reactive maintenance works, managing shutdown preparations, and supporting the continuous improvement of equipment reliability, availability, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate the scheduling of both planned and reactive maintenance activities.
* Liaise with Superintendents, Supervisors, and technical teams to prioritise work and allocate resources efficiently.
* Provide technical planning support, including condition monitoring, inspection coordination, and off-site repairs.
* Support shutdown planning and execution through the development of scopes of work, schedules, and resource planning.
* Ensure new equipment is catalogued and integrated into the site's maintenance and inventory systems.
* Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, reporting and identification of cost-saving opportunities.
* Collaborate with purchasing and logistics teams to monitor spare parts usage and availability.
* Provide support and occasional crossover coverage for Purchasing Officers when required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* Proven experience (3+ years) in maintenance planning within a mining, chemical or heavy industrial environment. Trade background highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of maintenance workflows, planning systems (e.g. PRONTO), and CMMS processes.
* Excellent communication and coordination skills with a collaborative approach.
* Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and process discipline.
* A commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices.
* The ability to interpret technical drawings and maintenance documentation.
* A proactive, solution-focused mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.
Requirements
* Current unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence.
* Ability to pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening.
* National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain).
* Full Australian working rights.
Roster / Conditions
* Full-time position on a 9/5 FIFO roster or residential
* FIFO from Melbourne, Burnie, or Launceston with flights provided
* Camp accommodation and meals supplied
