A well-regarded council in Inner Melbourne is seeking an experienced Subdivision Officer to join their Statutory Planning and Subdivision team on a temporary assignment. You will be part of a professional, collaborative and community‑focused environment supporting sustainable land development.
Your new role
As the Subdivision Officer, you will play a key role in administering and assessing subdivision applications and ensuring compliance with relevant Victorian legislation. You will work closely with internal departments, external stakeholders, developers and the community while delivering high‑quality subdivision services.
* Assessing subdivision applications and related land dealings in accordance with the Subdivision Act 1988 and Planning and Environment Act 1987
* Managing certification, referrals and Statements of Compliance within required timeframes
* Providing accurate statutory advice to applicants, consultants and external stakeholders
* Coordinating with internal teams, developers and referral authorities to ensure all conditions and requirements are met
* Responding professionally and promptly to subdivision and land development enquiries

* Demonstrated experience in subdivision assessment, planning administration or land development processes
* Strong understanding of relevant Victorian planning and subdivision legislation
* Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills
* Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively with minimal supervision
* A customer‑focused approach and strong attention to detail
