With a strong commitment to sustainability, innovation, and community, Goulburn-Murray Water plays a vital role in supporting agriculture, the environment, and regional development.Hays is proud to be partnering with Goulburn-Murray Water to recruit a strategic and experienced Lead Project Manager to join their Infrastructure Delivery Services team.Your New RoleThis is a leadership-focused position where you will provide strategic oversight across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects - ranging from asset replacements and refurbishments across major dams as well as asset replacements and refurbishments to irrigation system. Rather than managing individual projects, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of internal and external Project Managers and work closely with Engineers, ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment with organisational goals.Key responsibilities include:Overseeing the full project lifecycle including planning, budgeting, scheduling, design, construction, and commissioning.Managing stakeholder relationships across internal teams and external authorities (e.g. DEECA, CMAs, Parks Victoria).Driving continuous improvement and consistency in project delivery processes.Ensuring robust contract administration, technical documentation, tender evaluation, and progress reporting.What you’ll need to succeedFormal qualifications in Engineering (Civil, Electrical or Mechanical) or Project Management, or equivalent industry experience.Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities with a track record of developing high-performing teams.Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical information.Experience in contract management, tendering, and compliance, including working with contractors and consultants.What you’ll get in returnYou’ll receive a competitive salary of $123k–$134k + super, along with relocation assistance, pool vehicle, travel allowances, and accommodation support for regional site visits.
