The Role
A hands-on leadership role Reporting to the Regional Manager with full accountability for the divisions performance delivered through the below responsibilities:
* Lead and develop a team of circa 20 people across operations, logistics, and customer service functions.
* Full P&L responsibility — managing revenue, costs, and profitability with a commercial mindset.
* Drive a high-performance, collaborative culture where people are engaged, accountable, and supported to grow.
* Ensure customer service excellence is embedded across all touchpoints, with DIFOT targets consistently met.
* Oversee day-to-day operations including inventory, logistics coordination, and service fulfilment.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, resolving escalations and identifying growth opportunities.
* Monitor operational KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and service quality.
* Partner with internal stakeholders including sales, procurement, and senior leadership to align branch performance with wider business goals.
* Champion safety, compliance, and best-practice standards across all branch activities.
Your Background
You're an experienced operations leader who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment with the following experience & behaviours:
* Proven experience in an operations or branch management role, ideally within building materials, construction supplies, or a related distribution environment.
* Demonstrated P&L ownership — comfortable reading financials, managing budgets, and driving commercial outcomes.
* Strong people leadership skills with a track record of building engaged, high-performing teams.
* Experience managing logistics, inventory, or service fulfilment operations in a time-sensitive setting.
* A natural collaborator who brings people together across functions and levels of the business.
* Customer-first mindset with the ability to build lasting relationships and resolve issues with professionalism.
* Continuous improvement orientation — you look for better ways and bring the team along with you.
* Comfortable operating at pace, managing competing priorities, and making sound decisions under pressure.
* Strong communication and influencing skills across all levels of an organisation.
