BAE Systems Australia is leading the largest ever surface ship project in Australia's defence history — the design and build of Hunter class frigates. We are accepting applications for our 2026 apprenticeship program commencing in February, based at the Osborne Naval Shipyard.
As a Pipefitter Apprentice you will gain practical experience working in the shipyard, whilst completing a Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade.
Key Responsibilities
Fabricating a variety of materials.
Learning different types of welding processes.
Develop knowledge of fabrication codes and standards.
Applying health and safety processes in the workplace.
Contributing to improving business culture with regards to people, process and systems.
About You
An ability to work individually and collaboratively as part of a team.
Effective communication, both written and verbal.
Behaviours that demonstrate integrity, respect, and honesty.
A positive outlook and enthusiasm to grow and develop in your chosen field.
Initiative to problem solve and proactively engage in the tasks of your role.
A demonstrated interest and understanding of becoming an apprentice in a highly sought-after trade.
