This role is suited to a technically capable and proactive professional looking to influence the short- and medium-term direction of a growing multi-mine gold operation. With existing underground operations, and a centrally located processing facility ramping up, this position offers the opportunity to play a key role in integrated mine planning and development.
Working closely with production, geology and technical services teams, the Planning Engineer will ensure alignment between longer-term business objectives and executable mine plans, supporting safe, efficient and cost-effective ore delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain 3-month and 12-month mining schedules for underground operations
* Optimise mine designs and sequencing to meet production targets and strategic objectives
* Liaise with geology to ensure alignment between grade control and mining plans
* Work closely with processing and production teams to align ore delivery with mill constraints
* Conduct trade-off studies assessing mining methods, cut-off grades and sequencing options
* Analyse operational performance data to improve forecast accuracy and planning inputs
* Contribute to Life-of-Mine (LOM) planning and support Reserve and Resource updates
* Prepare planning reports and presentations for senior management and site leadership
Skills & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or a related discipline
* Minimum 3 years' experience in short- to medium-term underground mine planning
* Proficiency with mine planning software such as Deswik, Surpac, Datamine or equivalent
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
* High attention to detail and a structured, systems-based approach to planning
* Working knowledge of mining regulations, safety and environmental requirements
