A fellowship position is available for a senior registrar (level 5 or 6) to work within Ballarat Women's Clinic in a role focussed on skill enhancement in obstetrics and gynaecology, and in particular, exposure and development in advanced laparoscopic surgery. The position aims to provide the candidate extensive exposure and teaching opportunities to help the candidate gain confidence and skill as a capable consultant. The position is based in both the private and public sectors with Obstetrics offered in a multi-disciplinary team as well as exposure to a breadth of gynaecological issues requiring consultation and surgical management. The position is flexible with part time appointment considered for the right candidate. On completion of this fellowship: The candidate would expect to achieve independent consultant capability in: Total laparoscopic hysterectomy Prolapse repair Endometriosis and pelvic pain management Obstetric continuity of care in a multi-disciplinary environment Rooms procedures including colposcopy, cervical biopsy, ovulation induction Obstetric and some gynaecological ultrasound Diagnosis, case selection and surgical planning with full support of BWC consultants The candidate would be exposed to, and develop skill in: Deep infiltrating endometriosis Laparoscopic myomectomy Laparoscopic cervical cerclage Advanced gynaecological ultrasound An opportunity also exists at the clinic for the registrar to participate in a research collaboration between Ballarat Women's Clinic and La Trobe university.
