About the Unit
Belmont Hospital Surgical Unit (Ward 1FNB) is a 24‑beded, fast‑paced General Surgical Unit providing comprehensive inpatient care to patients admitted under a range of specialities including, but not limited to, General Surgery, Urology, Gynaecology, and Orthopaedics. The ward offers an exciting and dynamic environment where no two days are the same. Our team is dedicated to delivering safe, compassionate, and evidence‑based care, supporting patients through their surgical journey from admission to discharge. Staff on Ward 1FNB work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and are supported by experienced clinical leaders and education staff who are passionate about professional growth and development.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Administering medications safely and accurately
- Providing safe, compassionate, and evidence‑based nursing care
- Assisting with or providing personal care
- Liaising with the multidisciplinary team, patients, and families to develop and support individualised care plans and safe discharge processes
What We’re Looking For
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong time management and organisational abilities
- Surgical nursing experience (preferred), including wound care, drain management and patient education

- Ward‑based Clinical Nurse Educator for ongoing guidance
