Senior planning consultant

Perth
Developed
Posted: 18 March
Offer description

Developed is a modern, multi-disciplinary property consultancy firm delivering integrated Town Planning, Spatial and Project Delivery services.

From our Subiaco office, we advise on projects ranging from infill subdivisions and grouped dwellings through to complex commercial, industrial and large-scale residential developments across Western Australia.

We are a driven and ambitious team with a clear objective to establish ourselves as a leading consultancy in WA. We do this by delivering intelligent, commercially grounded and client-focused outcomes across infill, greenfield, commercial/industrial and complex subdivision pathways, often alongside leading consultants and developers.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Planning Consultant ready to take ownership of projects and contribute meaningfully to the continued growth and refinement of our planning division.

This role will suit a capable planner who values responsibility, maintains high standards and thrives within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.

You will work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in shaping not only project outcomes, but the continued evolution of our planning offering.

What Developed Offers

* Exposure to a diverse and high-quality project pipeline
* Direct collaboration with senior decision-makers
* A genuinely integrated Planning–Spatial–Delivery model
* Competitive remuneration aligned with experience
* Clear pathway for professional growth and leadership
* A culture built on performance, professionalism and mutual respect

We operate in a performance-driven environment where accountability, clarity and responsiveness are expected. We value people who take initiative, think commercially and contribute positively to team momentum.

We are deliberate about how we grow. We are building a consultancy recognised for quality, not volume. Relationships and reputation matter.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead Development Applications, Subdivision Applications, Scheme Amendments and other complex statutory matters
* Prepare detailed, strategic and well-structured planning reports and advice
* Manage client relationships and provide commercially informed guidance
* Engage directly with Local and State Government, referral agencies, sub-consultants and developers
* Identify appropriate approval pathways and proactively manage risk
* Mentor and support junior planners
* Contribute to systems improvement and the ongoing strengthening of the Developed brand

You will collaborate closely with our Planning, Spatial and Delivery teams to ensure efficient, process-driven and commercially sound outcomes for clients.

What We Are Looking For

* Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning (or similar)
* 4+ years WA statutory planning experience (Private Consultancy or Local/State Government)
* Strong working knowledge of the WA planning framework (Local Planning Schemes, R-Codes, State Planning Policies, Local Planning Policies, and DAP/Significant Pathways processes)
* Demonstrated ability to manage applications independently from instruction to determination
* Commercial awareness and understanding of development feasibility
* Clear, confident written and verbal communication
* Professional presentation and stakeholder engagement skills

We are seeking a planner who demonstrates ownership, accountability and sound professional judgement. This is a genuine senior position. We are seeking someone capable of operating confidently and independently at that level from day one.

Who This Role Will Suit

* Private consultants seeking greater influence, responsibility and exposure to diverse projects
* Local Government planners looking to transition into private practice and broaden their commercial experience
* High-performing planners ready to step confidently into a senior role within an ambitious and growing firm
* A collaborative and decisive team player who wants to contribute meaningfully to shaping quality development outcomes across Western Australia

If you are motivated by quality work, professional standards and long-term growth, we encourage you to apply.

Please submit your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience and what attracts you to Developed to info@developedproperty.com.au.

Applications close Tuesday 31 March 2026.

Please Note: Developed reserves the right to close the application period prior to the above listed date. Incomplete applications will not be considered. All applications will be treated confidentially.

Your application will include the following questions

* Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?
* How many years' experience do you have as a Planning Consultant?
* Do you have a current Australian driver's licence?
