Correctional centres are responsible for delivering custodial services across Queensland.
People in custody are supervised in either high or low security correctional centres.
High security centres manage adult prisoners held in secure custody across Queensland.
The Administrative Officer will provide efficient and effective administrative and clerical support for the centre and assist with the centre's daily operations.
This role requires working as part of an administrative support team.
In This Role You Will
1. Provide administrative functions and confidential support, including word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, photocopying, filing, and minute-taking at meetings.
2. Support staff with administrative issues and assist in preparing memorandums, reports, and correspondence.
3. Assist in the use and maintenance of office communication and technology, including photocopiers, printers, and computers.
4. Answer general enquiries at reception, direct visitors, screen calls, and redirect enquiries appropriately.
5. Manage mail and maintain the mail register.
6. Undertake procurement activities to ensure adequate resources, including stationery and office supplies.
7. Process human resources paperwork, including timesheets, leave forms, and payroll documentation.
8. Perform opening and closing procedures.
9. Conduct banking as required.
10. Maintain filing and recording systems, ensuring confidentiality of documentation.
11. Ensure the security of files and appropriate access by staff and external agencies.
12. Maintain accurate and current records for the Integrated Offender Management system (IOMs).
13. Archive files and records in accordance with legislative requirements.
