**The role**:
We are currently looking for an Assistant In Nursing (AIN) to join our team and provide safe, person-centred care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will deliver personal care, assist with patient mobility, and support the communication needs of our patients, ensuring safety and timely reporting of incidents.
Your day will involve shift work with flexibility, requiring a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. We value critical thinking skills to recognise and respond to rapid patient deterioration, and the capacity to prioritise tasks and manage your workload effectively. As part of our friendly and supportive team, you'll benefit from a ward-based mentor program and the expertise of our Renal Nurse Educators.
In this role, you will provide individualised care to maximise patient health outcomes under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. Your responsibilities will include assisting with personal care, mobility, and communication needs, as well as delivering care within legal and ethical parameters. You will also assist with routine technical support functions and maintain accurate patient documentation.
**Where you'll be working**:
John Hunter Hospital is a Level 6, tertiary referral, major trauma and teaching hospital and is the largest hospital in the Hunter Recent England Local Health District.

**Requirements**:
- Certificate III Assistant in Nursing or currently enrolled in an undergraduate Registered Nursing degree (completion of first year and first semester or trimester of second year), or have equivalent experience.
