This is a senior appointment within a globally connected disputes practice, offering access to high stakes, complex, multi-jurisdictional litigation and regulatory matters across a broad range of industries. The platform is well-established in Australia and internationally, with a deeply integrated model that enables seamless collaboration across offices and practice groups. The Brisbane disputes team is a key part of this broader network, acting for a diverse client base including multinational corporates, financial institutions, government bodies and mid-market businesses. The practice spans commercial litigation, regulatory investigations and alternative dispute resolution, with particular strength across sectors such as construction, energy, mining, finance, healthcare and property. You will be joining a highly experienced disputes leader with a long-standing presence in the Queensland market, known for advising on complex contractual, shareholder and regulatory disputes. The role offers genuine involvement in strategic decision-making, exposure to sophisticated clients, and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the continued growth of the practice. The Role
Working as a Senior Associate, with pathway to Special Counsel, you will take a leading role in managing a broad range of commercial disputes. This includes contractual and shareholder disputes, ACL and regulatory matters, leasing and property disputes, and defamation. You will have carriage of matters, including responsibility for client advisory, court appearances, and the day-to-day management of files. The role also involves mentoring junior lawyers, overseeing workflow, and contributing to team capability development. You will be closely involved in dispute strategy, pleadings, evidence preparation and alternative dispute resolution processes, with the autonomy to manage matters while remaining supported by an experienced senior practitioner. About You
7–10+ years’ PQE in commercial litigation or dispute resolution Strong academics with well-developed technical and drafting skills Experience managing complex disputes with a high degree of autonomy Confident in client interaction, court work and strategic advisory Demonstrated ability to mentor junior lawyers and contribute to team development If you would like to explore the finer details, please feel free to get in contact directly to discuss further.
