Backed by significant investment and industry partnerships, the company is expanding a national network of ultra-fast EV charging stations. Their mission is to accelerate transport electrification by providing reliable, accessible, and well-planned charging infrastructure. The team is driven by engineering excellence, sustainability, and network performance at scale. About the Role You will be responsible for network-level planning and power system assessments for new EV charging sites across both metro and regional corridors. The role requires working closely with internal engineers, external consultants, and electricity distributors to ensure efficient connection strategies. You will help shape site selection, layout, power demand profiles, and optimal transformer and switchgear configurations. Your work will directly support the delivery of hundreds of new EV charging locations across Australia. Key Responsibilities Plan and assess electrical infrastructure for public EV charging station rollouts Conduct feasibility studies, load assessments, and demand forecasting Support grid connection scoping and distributor engagement for each new site Review site constraints and propose optimal layouts for chargers and switchgear Ensure compliance with electrical standards, safety requirements, and connection codes Work with project teams on timelines, procurement, and technical interface Support testing, commissioning, and readiness reviews for energisation Provide technical input into network expansion planning and system resilience Assist in development of internal engineering standards and planning guidelines Project Coverage Urban and regional public EV charging stations High-power charging layouts (e.g. 150kW, 350kW) Grid connection scoping and upstream network coordination Electrical layout planning including switchboards, transformers, cabling LV and HV infrastructure planning and design interface Interconnection with DNSPs and private networks Candidate Profile 5 years’ experience in electrical infrastructure planning, power systems, or EV charging Solid understanding of electricity distribution systems and connection requirements Experience planning or designing infrastructure for EV, renewables, or transport projects Comfortable working with GIS, AutoCAD, and load modelling tools Strong stakeholder engagement skills, particularly with distributors and consultants Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems Engineering Working knowledge of AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 4777, and relevant grid connection codes Self-driven, solutions-oriented, and experienced in fast-paced delivery environments What’s on Offer Permanent role in a pioneering EV infrastructure company Competitive salary and long-term career opportunity National projects with technical complexity and scale Flexible working conditions with a collaborative and driven team Play a key role in Australia’s transport electrification journey To express your interest, please submit your CV and a short cover letter outlining your EV or infrastructure planning experience.
