The Project Manager (Optimisation and Archiving) will be responsible for planning and managing projects related to the Corporate Technology Services program of works. This includes delivery of new applications or components, extension or upgrade of existing applications or components. The role coordinates across Corporate Enterprise Solutions (CES) teams and with external stakeholders to lead the planning and delivery of CES solutions in accordance with established Release Management processes, enhancing where required PRINCE2 or Managing Successful Programs (MSP) methodologies. If required, the project manager leads the development of a business case to seek funding for initiatives, and delivers the responsibilities in line with Queensland public service values.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and manage the definition, documentation and successful completion of complex projects in line with Queensland Health project management methodologies.
* Promote and ensure the use of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies and tools, including benefits realisation, dependency management, decision recording and risk and issue management, to ensure quality project outcomes are delivered.
* Ensure appropriate governance artefacts are developed and reviewed in time for governance meetings.
* Oversee and manage the monitoring, controlling and reporting of project related trends and performance against project plans, deliverables and schedules.
* Oversee planning and delivery of architecture objectives required to support the projects.
* Initiate, influence and maintain relationships with and between key internal and external stakeholders, facilitating effective communication channels to promote the successful adoption of change within the business and fostering relationships through lessons learned, feedback mechanisms and management of expectations.
* Manage capability and resource development by leading and mentoring multidisciplinary team(s).
* Multi-task, prioritise, communicate and organise activities in a virtual environment to achieve project milestones.
* Provide advice to define technology roadmaps and solutions.
* Mentor other staff and share skills with team members where appropriate.
Key Experience Required
* Good balance of HR/Payroll/Rostering or Finance system technical and functional project management experience, project management methodology (PRINCE2 preferred), ICT related change management and relational skills.
* Leadership of HR/Payroll, Rostering or Finance product suite upgrades with a minimum of 7 to 10 years of project management experience.
* Experience in developing business cases and PRINCE2 products for HR/Payroll, Rostering or Finance projects, tailoring methodologies to establish a unique project management environment.
* Proven delivery of large and complex HR/Payroll, Rostering or Finance based projects, preferably in the healthcare industry.
* Proven stakeholder relationship management skills, including the ability to initiate relationships and influence key stakeholders.
* Excellent negotiation, consultation, facilitation and effective written and oral communication skills for complex project environments.
* Excellent meeting facilitation skills, including teleconference and web conference.
* Proven experience in leading, managing and mentoring an effective multi-disciplinary team that includes external service providers.
* Strong analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills and the ability to work in a team environment developing effective working relationships.
* Experience in release management processes for planning the upgrade landscape.
* Experience in providing innovative solutions and plans to resolve application, technical infrastructure and business process issues.
* Relevant qualification and/or accreditation in PRINCE2, MSP, ITIL, Agile or SAFE well regarded, as well as experience using the SAP Activate methodology.

* Experience in complex government project environments.
* Experience working with or within the healthcare services sector.
Benefits: Pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading for Australian‐based contract and temporary roles only. This excludes permanent and fixed‐term roles.
