About the WesTrac Apprenticeship Program An Apprenticeship with WesTrac allows you to earn while you learn.
Apprenticeships last for a 4-year period and upon completion you will have gained a nationally recognised trade qualification and a wealth of both business and industry exposure.
The WesTrac Apprentice program is designed to give exposure to a broad range of Caterpillar equipment and opportunity learn from our highly skilled team.

As an Apprentice Boilermaker you will learn how to: Read and interpret technical drawings and schematicsInspect a vast range of Caterpillar Mobile Plant equipment parts and componentsOperate welding equipmentPerform a range of welding techniques such as MIG, TIG and arcWeld parts for machine rebuildsFabricate parts and attachments for new machine buildsSafely operate workshop equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes and toolsMaintain a safe working environmentNavigate Caterpillar systems to ensure all work is done in accordance with Caterpillar's quality standardAbout You: 16 years of age or over by December 9th 2025Great communication, reading and writing skillsInterest and passion for machinery and hands on learningDrivers licence and reliable transport OR close to obtaining drivers licence with ability to get to and from work each day and to a local TAFE for training (approx.
