This opportunity is with the Interior Systems division at Wetherill Park. You will play a critical role in driving site-wide efficiency, delivering measurable cost savings, and embedding World Class Manufacturing (WCM) behaviours into daily operations. This is a hands-on role that involves on-the-floor work, data analysis, challenging the status quo, and leading change from the front.
Responsibilities
- Lead process improvement and cost reduction projects — from concept and scoping through to implementation and commissioning.
- Identify inefficiencies using real operational data, propose solutions and coordinate cross-functional teams to execute.
- Embed Lean / WCM tools and standards including 5S, problem-solving frameworks and performance control systems.
- Track and report on KPIs to ensure improvements stick and can be replicated across other CSR sites.
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Procurement and Centres of Excellence to deliver sustainable results.
- Support small capex initiatives and contribute to larger investments in development and commissioning phases.
About You / Qualifications
- Engineering qualifications (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Chemical or similar).
- Experience in production or maintenance environments, ideally in manufacturing, materials, mining or heavy industry.
- Solid understanding of Lean / CI / WCM methods (5S, Kaizen, VSM etc).
- Robust data and problem-solving capability — you know your way around factory data, BI tools or reporting dashboards.
- Stakeholder resilience — able to influence across Ops, Procurement, Quality and Head Office.
