Assistant Director, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships

Details: The Justice and Community Safety Directorate (JACS) is seeking an experienced and motivated officer to build engagement opportunities with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and organisations to inform the development of culturally safe policies, projects and resources aligned to the ACT Disaster Resilience Strategy.
The role will work with stakeholders to incorporate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge and perspectives into the design and delivery of policies, projects, tools and resources that will enhance government and community disaster risk reduction and resilience capability.
The position contributes primarily to Closing the Gap Priority Reform 1:Formal Partnerships and Shared Decision Making and Priority Reform 3: Transforming Government Organisations.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:
- This is anIdentified positionin accordance with Section 27(4) of thePublic Sector Management Act 1994and is only open to an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander lived experience and cultural capability is considered essential and therefore confirmation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage may be requested.
Note: This is a temporary position available 1 July 2025 until 31 December 2026. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
