Hunt The Night is a specialist hunting and outdoor retailer based in Pakenham. We supply firearms, optics, thermal and night-vision equipment and other gear used by hunters and shooters across Australia.
Like most growing small businesses, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes — orders, suppliers, stock, invoices, systems and the everyday work that keeps everything running smoothly.
We’re looking for an Accounts & Office Assistant to help keep the financial and administrative side of the business organised.
You’ll be working alongside our Business Support Manager, assisting with bookkeeping, accounts and office administration. This means you’ll have support and guidance while learning how the financial side of a real business operates.
This role suits someone who is organised, detail-oriented and enjoys keeping things running properly. It’s a great opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to build real experience in accounts, administration and business operations.
What the role involves
Your days will include a mix of accounts support, administration and general office coordination.
Typical tasks include:
* Assisting with accounts payable and receivable
* Processing supplier invoices and expenses
* Maintaining financial records and assisting with reconciliations
* General office administration and data entry
* Assisting with supplier and customer enquiries when required
* Helping prepare reports and internal documentation
* Assisting with social media scheduling and promotions
No two days are exactly the same, and you’ll gain exposure to how a growing retail and e-commerce business operates.
Skills & experience
You don’t need to know everything already — we’re happy to train the right person.
Helpful experience includes:
* Previous administration or accounts experience
* Familiarity with bookkeeping software such as QuickBooks
* Experience with Shopify or Retail Express (a bonus but not required)
* Strong attention to detail
* Good organisational skills
* Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
* Clear written and verbal communication
* Basic familiarity with social media platforms
About you
You’re likely someone who:
* enjoys organising information and systems
* notices small details others might miss
* likes solving problems and figuring things out
* can manage multiple tasks without losing track
* works well in a small team environment
* wants to learn how a business actually runs behind the scenes
What you’ll get
* A supportive small-team environment
* Direct experience working alongside an experienced Team
* Exposure to retail, e-commerce and supplier management
* The chance to grow your skills in accounts and business operations
