In this role you will provide an efficient clerical support service and contribute to the provision of a high-quality, cost-effective pathology service to clients of Pathology Queensland.
What you'll do
* Perform a range of general office procedures and activities within the administrative section of pathology including ordering of stationery, consumables and equipment, coordination of quotes and appointment bookings and maintenance of office equipment
* High level of computer skills and knowledge of Internet, QHEPS, Auslab, Word, HBCIS, Power Point and Excel programs
* Medical typing of Anatomical and Cytopathology reports.
* Liaise closely with the Medical Director Sunshine Coast, Medical Director Anatomical Pathology, Senior Medical Officers, Group Co-ordinating Laboratory Manager and Departmental Supervisors.
* Provide administrative support for pathology staff in a Group Co-ordinating Laboratory eg. Preparation of educational presentations, data entry RCPA program material etc.
* Manage telephone enquiries, providing the first point of contact for Pathology Queensland clients and provide confidential telephone results to internal/external medical staff.
* Business typing including minutes of meetings as required.
About you
We are searching for someone who has:
* Demonstrated working knowledge and skills in medical typing and computer programs relevant to duties.
* Demonstrated ability to work to professional standards without direct supervision and to organise and prioritise the administrative workload of a Group Co-ordinating Laboratory.
* Demonstrated high level of written and oral communication skills and a high level of interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
* A demonstrated commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement.
* Knowledge of, or ability to acquire knowledge of, procedures policies and regulations which impact on the position, in particular the Queensland Health Code of Conduct, and a knowledge of contemporary human resource management issues such as work place health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination.
