The Role
The Business Resource Officer is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex procedural, operational, administrative and business enabling work within an integrated workforce. You are expected to set work priorities, manage workflows, and contribute towards building team capability through coaching, feedback and fostering the quality of work undertaken by others within the work unit. You will have considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex issues. You will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.
As a Business Resource Officer, your skills will be primarily applied in the context of assets and infrastructure. You will use your analytical and strategic thinking skills to develop and maintain the following artefacts and plans:
* Training Force Asset Register
* Training Force Asset replacement schedule
* Training Force ICT Assets map and rolling replacement schedule
* Training Force Infrastructure and usage map
* Training Force Training Aid register

The Business Resource Officer role sits within the Business Resource Management (BRM) team whose primary purpose is the coordination and management of budget, procurement, administration and governance related functions. The BRM team, based out with TF Headquarters, works regularly with team members who are geographically located across Australia. Reporting to the Deputy Director Business Resource Management, you will assist in maximizing efficient use of resources through innovative solutions and planning. You will, in your role, also contribute to the delivery of the TF Strategy as part of the BRM team, while engaging with projects and other business units to ensure sustainable business operations.
Our Ideal Candidate
In this position you will play a key role in enabling an understanding of commercial and financial risks, and opportunities through the management of assets and infrastructure across Training Force. You will build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and be able to work in a small, multidisciplinary team, against competing priorities. Additionally, you will provide detailed professional advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development. While qualification in accounting is not required, experience and a working knowledge of financial and assets related terms is desirable.
