WSP, an international engineering consultancy, is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join its Geotechnical & Tunnels team based in Sydney or Newcastle.
What you'll do:
* Foster and maintain relationships from proposal preparation to managing financial and technical aspects of delivering small to large scale projects.
* Undertake and manage geotechnical investigation and design projects from proposal preparation to fieldwork, analysis and reporting.
* Support the delivery of dam surveillance, safety inspections, risk assessments, and development of safety management systems.
* Use your interpretation and design skills to contribute to geotechnical projects predominantly in the energy transition, mining, and transport industries.
* Work closely with the multidisciplinary team throughout project delivery.
* Drive business development through successful delivery of your projects.
* Promote a safe working culture by identifying and eliminating safety hazards.
About You:
* A Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology degree – postgraduate qualifications in a geotechnical related field will be considered favourably.
* Must have experience in geotechnical engineering/engineering geology (local experience preferred).
* Experience and passion for tailings storage facility and water dam management.
* A successful track record in undertaking and managing field investigations for small to large size geotechnical projects.
* Track record of promoting innovation in the field of geotechnical engineering to create value for clients and their projects.
* Demonstrated experience in the preparation / review of written technical reports and client communications.
* Demonstrated experience in geotechnical design including rock/soil/structure interaction.
* A strong work ethic and ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
* Ability to take responsibility for geotechnical design delivery in a multidisciplinary environment.
