An opportunity is available for an experienced Group Financial Controller or an experienced Finance Manager to lead group-wide finance operations within a sophisticated property and funds management environment. This role will manage the Group Finance function, overseeing financial accounting, reporting, compliance and tax obligations across multiple entities.
Reporting to senior finance leadership, you will play a critical role in ensuring timely, accurate reporting, strong governance and continuous improvement of finance processes.
The Group manages both listed and unlisted investment vehicles and operates within a highly regulated environment, with a strong focus on governance, compliance and transparent financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the Group month-end close process, including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow and AFSL reporting
* Oversee statutory compliance across the Group, including direct and indirect taxation (Corporate Tax, BAS, IAS, PAYG, FBT)
* Manage the preparation of half-year and full-year statutory financial statements, coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors
* Oversee semi-annual taxable income calculations, distributions and investor tax statements
* Ensure timely delivery of compliance reporting, including AFSL financial reporting, NTA calculations and cashflow forecasts
* Own Group cashflow forecasting and analysis
* Ensure finance policies, controls and processes are adhered to across the Group, driving process improvements where required
* Lead accounting for acquisitions, divestments and other corporate transactions
* Maintain oversight of Group asset registers (accounting and tax)
* Lead and develop the Group Finance team and drive agreed finance projects
The Candidate:
* CA qualified with strong technical accounting capability
* 5+ years' experience in financial services, ideally within property and funds management
* Strong experience with complex group consolidations and statutory reporting
* Solid tax knowledge across corporate and indirect taxes
* Audit background highly regarded
* Proven experience leading and developing high-performing finance teams
* Confident communicator with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
* Detail-oriented, adaptable and motivated by continuous improvement
