This role is a key part of our supply chain operations. We are looking for skilled and safety-conscious individuals to join our team at Port Adelaide.
About the Role
* Operate equipment: Safely and efficiently operate machinery such as forklifts, front-end loaders, and other equipment used for loading and unloading grain trucks.
* Ensure grain quality: Conduct grain classification and quality control procedures to maintain high product standards.
* Support export operations: Assist with bulk grain outturning, including ship loading, container packing, and coordination of road transport logistics.
* Work in the control room: Monitor and manage grain movement and site activities using basic computer systems to ensure smooth and accurate operations.
* Perform Authorised Officer duties: Undertake inspection, sampling, and documentation tasks to ensure grain meets required export standards and compliance protocols.
* Maintain storage facilities: Ensure bunkers, silos, and storage areas are clean, well-organised, and meet hygiene and safety requirements.
* Lead and support teams: Provide guidance and on-the-job support to seasonal workers during peak periods, contributing to a safe and efficient team environment.
* Monitor infrastructure: Check the condition of tarps, bunkers, and other storage infrastructure to support ongoing operational readiness.
* Carry out general maintenance: Assist with routine equipment upkeep, pest control, and site hygiene tasks to support overall terminal efficiency.

* Relevant Experience: Previous experience in grain handling or a similar operational role is preferred but not essential – we value your willingness to learn and grow.
* Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with commodity classification is a bonus but not required.
* Valid Driver's Licence: A current driver's licence is essential for this role.
